Carb Rebuild
I have decided to attempt a rebuild of my carb myself rather than taking it to someone.
Holley 4160 4 barrell on a 351w. I just finished dissasembly, and I only managed to break one thing! Broke a vent tube trying to get it off to remove the choke valve. I have a few parts to order still for the rebuild, but should have it back together soon. I have a ton of pics, but I have to resize them all so you gets to wait. |

Got all of my pieces on order. I had to call Holley directly to get the screws. They gave me the specs on them so I can try to get them myself locally if needed, but they are shipping me some.
Other than that and the standard rebuild kit I have: new Secondary Diaphram assembly new Electric Choke Coil/cover new Jets / needles / seats replacing damaged hardware as needed. New vent tube ( I broke the old one) and a 6.5 Power Valve. although I am undecided on whether to go with the 6.5 or stay with te stock 2.5 still. |

Pictures!
Heres a few of before and during dissasembly. I took a ton of pics while tyaking this thing apart to help me put it back together.
You can see all of the buildup on the carb. The last pic is the List Number of the carb, basically its specific model number. Notice the up side down "J" shaped vent tubes, those are for marine specific carbs, auto ones are straight up. |

I think it will definately run better. I'm hoping it fixes my idle problem as well. I think that was a result of the throttle linkage hanging up slightly though.

I got everything installed onto the bottom plate last night. Installed the bottom plate onto the Main Body and got the choke assembly done and the secondary diaphram installed. No pics of the assembly, it took too much concentration just to do it, let alone stop and take pictures.
