How To: Replace Speakers

Overview
Replacing your stock speakers is a very simple mod. All it will take you is a half hour tops to swap out all four speakers without any wire cutting.


Required Material
- 7/32” Socket Wrench
- 1/4” Socket Wrench
- Panel Remover Tool
- Preferred Aftermarket speakers
- Appropriate Speaker Harnesses
Procedure
Door Speakers:
- Remove the two (2) door panel screws behind the door release lever with a 7/32” socket wrench. Depending on the year/model of the truck, there may be two (2) additional screws at the bottom of the panel.

- With the door panel remover, pry up the seven (7) plastic plugs holding the panel in place. Gently but firmly apply pressure to release the hold. Three (3) are located on each side of the panel and one is located at the bottom center of the panel. Lift up and out to remove the panel.


- Remove the three screws holding the stock speaker in place with a 1/4” socket wrench.

- Detach the factory speaker harness from the stock speaker via the thumb tab.

- Attach the aftermarket speaker harness to the aftermarket speaker, large plug to large prong, small plug to small tab.

- Attach the aftermarket speaker harness to the factory speaker harness.

- Turn on the radio to make sure the speaker is working correctly.
- Replace the three (3) screws.

- Align the top of the door panel with the window slot, then align the seven (7) plastic plugs and press them firmly back into place.
- Enjoy the enhanced sound quality of your music!
Non-Door Speakers:

- Remove the speaker screen with the door panel remover. Firmly push down and out.


- Remove the four (4) screws holding the speaker with the 1/4” socket wrench.

- Detach the factory speaker harness from the stock speaker via the thumb tab.

- Attach the aftermarket speaker harness to the aftermarket speaker, large plug to large prong, small plug to small tab.

- Attach the aftermarket speaker harness to the factory speaker harness.

- Turn on the radio to make sure the speaker is working correctly.
- Replace the four (4) screws.

- Push the speaker screen back into place.


- Enjoy the enhanced sound quality of your music!
